Technical Program Manager and Quality Advisor
Boulder, COMethod Development LLC dba Route36 has an opening in Boulder, CO for a Technical Program Manager and Quality Advisor.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage quality-engineering programs to ensure product reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
- Define and implement scalable test-automation frameworks, processes, and quality platforms to support release management and software delivery.
- Drive adoption of shift-left testing and continuous-testing practices across engineering teams.
- Develop and maintain test plans and frameworks covering unit, API, integration, and end-to-end testing layers.
- Define and track quality-performance indicators, including defect-escape rate, mean-time-to-resolution (MTTR), test coverage, and cycle time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain quality standards across the software-development lifecycle.
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership to test and automation engineers to promote best practices in test architecture and data validation.
- Drive process-improvement and quality-engineering transformation initiatives to improve release cadence, resiliency, and reliability.
- Coordinate program-level test activities, risk management, and release planning with engineering and product-management teams.
- Participate in planning, resource allocation, and governance activities for major product launches and platform improvements.
- Drive Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) projects supporting Quality and DevOps initiatives, including environment provisioning, CI/CD-platform migrations, and operational automation in Azure or AWS.
- Will work in unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.
Requirements
Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related field, and 7 years of experience.
5 years must include experience with:
- Defining and driving scope of iterative testing to achieve predictable product delivery.
- Driving test and process improvements to reduce defect escape rate.
- Building master test plans or related methodology coordinating test activities across multiple development teams.
- Defining and tracking quality-performance indicators for corrective and preventive measures.
2 years must include leadership experience with:
- Hiring and building a new technical team of software engineers and developers.
- Driving test automation toward continuous testing using technologies such as Python, Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or related languages.
- Defining and driving scale- and performance-testing architecture using visualization and monitoring tools such as Kibana, Grafana, or similar.
- Driving Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) projects supporting Quality and DevOps initiatives, including environment provisioning, CI/CD-platform migrations, and operational automation in Azure or AWS.
- Developing frameworks to provide engineering performance indicators such as Accelerate DevOps metrics using Kibana, Google Data Studio, Power BI, or other data-visualization tools.
- Leading engineering initiatives to optimize cycle times and increase delivery visibility across CI/CD pipelines.
Must hold at least one industry-recognized certification in project or process management, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM-I), or an equivalent certification in agile or quality management.
